Hatzophim *
Camp for girls 7th-9th
Grade
Hatzophim is a new travel/ chesed camp for girls. Join us for a fun summer.
All teen trips are mandatory.
Camp
Y-HO-CA: Grades 1-6
Our most "historical" camp for over 4 decades is
Y-HO-CA whose initials mean "Y" HOME CAMP. The days are filled with sports,
swim, nature, cooking, hiking, crafts, drama, and music. This is a camp open to
everyone of all backgrounds and is considered our most "culturally diverse"
program. One of our social goals is to teach everyone how to live together
happily and harmoniously. Five trips highlight a summer of busy and productive
days. Many of our counselors have been campers in the past, and want to come
back to share their wonderful experiences! Y-HO-CA campers are well-known
throughout the community for their wonderful theatrical presentations, which
delight audiences every summer!
Camp
Chaverim:
Grades 1-6
This is our very successful division geared just for the children who are
Yeshiva students, with an emphasis on Jewish learning and Lifestyle. The entire
philosophy is geared towards the Jewish observant family. Campers begin each
day with davening, and the boys are encouraged to wear Tzitzit and Kipot.
Brachos will be recited before and after meals; and the three week period
(Shiva Asar B'Tammuz until Tisha B'av) will be observed. Kashrut is closely
monitored in the building and while out on trips. Clubs meet at least twice a
week and offer each child the opportunity to choose their own creative
activities. Chaverim enjoys their very own section of the outdoor camp area, as
well as their own section inside the facility. A strong feeling of Ruach occurs
as soon as our campers are welcomed into Camp in the morning, greeted with
music and smiles! Five exciting trips will be scheduled throughout the summer,
including the all-famous Sesame Place for our youngest groups, and Dorney Park
for the Older campers. Baseball games. Museums, Shows, Zoos, Sporting events,
other indoor and outdoor amusement parks all help to make a wonderful and
special summer. The"famous" Chaverim maccabiah, end-of-the-year Show and
Carnival make this the camp your kids will want to come back to, year after
year!
Camp
Kinneret:
Grades 1-6
We are so proud of our newest camp, which is expected to double in size this
season! Enjoying an "Israeli flavor", this division offers an emphasis on
Jewish culture and tradition, geared for the non-orthodox child. The Staff is
knowledgeable and trained in Jewish ideology and successfully incorporates
Jewish and Israeli content into most activities; Swimming, Crafts, Cooking,
Theatre Arts, Sports and Trips. The Campers will have access to our new
Computer Lab. Each week a different theme will be presented about the state of
Israel: ranging from Food and climate, to history and celebrations. Each week
the Oneg Shabbat will be presented by a different group. There will be five
trips offered throughout the summer, as scheduled on your calendar.
Teen
Get-Away: 7th, 8th, & 9th Grade
By far, one of the most popular Teen Programs in our area! Teens join together
to travel everyday to unique and exciting places. A select group (limited to
40) leave the "Y" every morning at 9:15 AM, and usually return by 4PM. There
are about a dozen "later" pick-ups when they travel to Amusement Parks,
Baseball Games, or out-of-state. Fridays are the only time the Teens will be
"on-campus". A wide variety of activities are avaliable for our Teens like;
Early morning bowling league, swimming, crafts, sports, and computers. The
Staff consists of Adults, Teachers, and College students. All teen trips are mandatory.
Kinders:
Ages 2 1/2-5
Our KINDER Camp Program is a delightful and easy introduction into "Camp Life"
for the youngest children. The pre-schoolers spend sunny days in a
well-designed playground, as well as a spend time in an air-conditioned
color-coded rooms. The outdoor wading pool and sand area make for a beach-like
environment. Each week has a special theme, incorporating Jewish education and
culture. Sports, crafts, music, nature, drama, cooking, and special enrichment
programs all add up to a busy and exciting day. Rest periods of reading and
quiet games are offered after lunch, and each week culminates in a joyous Oneg
Shabbat. Hands-on activities allow each child to maximize their personal
creativity and expression. Four to five mini-trips are scheduled throughout the
eight-week period, and entertainment such as Clowns, Magic shows, and pony
rides come right on to our grounds! Most of our highly- trained staff are Early
childhood educators Teachers, and parents. We prefer your child to be
"potty-trained", but if they are "Border-line", we will be happy and patient in
helping to train them. Our Staff to camper ratio is 4 to 1; if your child is
too young for this environment, we will be pleased to refer them to our
qualified DayCare Program, which begins at 6 weeks old. Campers are grouped
according to age, with preference given to those who request to be together
with a "friend(s)". A special show is put on by the Kinders themselves on a
Friday afternoon in mid-August.
