CHILD CARE
MISSION:
Our goal is to help each child gain
self-mastery and the ability to deal competently, confidently and
compassionately with the world. Within a warm, Jewish environment, the
childrenıs social, emotional, intellectual and motor development is
fostered. Reading
and math readiness, which is an integral part of the Y preschool program,
is geared in accordance with the individual abilities of each child.
Parents, also, are offered support, encouragement and opportunities for
socialization. "Y" children receive excellent care plus a
well-rounded developmental program.
Children as young as six weeks have gym, and music classes on a weekly basis. 2 1/2 year
olds and older children also have weekly computer and swim classes. Each
class is led by a professional who specializes in Early Childhood
instruction so that maximum benefit is received.

GET INVOLVED

The Early
Childhood Committee evaluates each program in the Early Childhood
Department and recommends an innovative program and ensures they meet the
needs of the individual and the community. You Must be a “Y”
member to serve on this committee.
The Parent Advisory Board is concerned with
promoting staff development and fund raising for the Early Childhood
Department. Besides sponsoring events such as the Sukkot
dinner, Early Childhood Raffle, Chanukah Parties, fall and spring Mitzvah
Sundays, and other events throughout the year, the P.A.B. is responsible for
brainstorming, exploring and executing new fundraising ideas for the
departments.
Class Parents:
We have two class parents from each class that will be responsible for
calling the parents in the class to inform them of upcoming events. They
support the teachers and help promote programs within the Early Childhood
Department.
Library/Parenting Center: New this year, is our library, located on the main
floor of the “Y” housed in the Chapel. It has resource materials
for the parents as well as all types of books for children ranging from
infant to school aged. If you have book donations please call.
