Schering-Plough Aquatics Center
Completed in December 2008, our pool area has undergone a complete facelift. The “Y” is proud to have had Schering-Plough Corporation as a partner in this project. We welcome the community to jump in.
Our olympic size five-lane pool is comfortably heated to 84 degrees, maintained daily by Certified Pool Operators and carefully guarded by American Red Cross lifeguards.
About our Aquatics Staff
Our lifeguards are “on duty” over 80 hours a week, ensuring your swimming experience to be safe and pleasant. Besides passing the Lifeguard certification course, they are First Aid/CPR licensed and have continuing accreditation. Most of our guards are also Water Safety Instructors. (WSI’s)
Pool Rules & Regulations
1. Membership card or guest pass required to use the pool.
2. Guests (accompanied by a member) must pay at the Main Office and present a receipt to the lifeguard when signing in.
3. Shower required to enter pool.
4. Long hair must be covered with a bathing cap.
5. Adult swims are for those 16 years and older.
6. During “female only” swims, no males over five years of age will be allowed in the pool. No girls over the age of 5 are allowed during male only swims. Same rules apply for locker rooms.
7. No one under the age of 12 is allowed in the pool without a parent or guardian.
8. Swim class registration receipts must be presented to instructor at 1st session.

Swim Lanes Open depending on availability. Schedule subject to change during camp, on school
vacation days and holidays. Extra swim instructional classes may be added. Pool is closed to members July & August, 8:30 am – 11:45 am and 12:20 pm – 4:00 pm. There will be 2-3 Sundays the pool
will be closed for swim meets. Please watch for notices.
Pool Activities
Outdoor Pool
June 26th – September 4th. Enjoy our beautiful private pool & relaxation area. Hours for members (non camp times). Monday thru Thursday 4:30-7 pm, Sunday 12 – 5pm.
Aqua-Aerobics for Seniors
Tuesdays 10:00 – 10:45 am. Free to Members. Stretch & Flex in the pool. Outdoor pool in July and August.
Private Swim Instruction
Members $25 (1/2 hour), Non-members $30 (1/2 hour). Make appointment at the Pool with Larry or Fern.
Male Only/Female Only Swim
Males Only: Sunday 4:00-5:00 pm, Tuesday 8:30-9:30 pm, Thursday 8:30-9:30 pm.
Females Only: Sunday 3:00-4:00 pm, Monday 8:30-9:30 pm, Wednesday 8:30-9:30 pm
* Children of the opposite sex only to age 5. Please make locker room provisions.
Sharks: The “Y” Swim Team
Our team competes in the North Jersey J.W.B. Swim League. Meets begin in October and are on Sundays. Practices: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday. (There may be additional charges beyond the regular
fee for transportation and uniforms).
Coach: Fern Perez. Assistant Coach: Gene Tavera.
Registration Opens September 18th @ 12 noon. Fees: Members: $300. Non-Members: $400.
Scuba Classes
Beginning Water Course. Offered several times a year.
